Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Mark L — 08 May 2011
Of coarse you would think of the music when you think of a musical but this film exceeds in many other areas. It was filmed in Super Panavision 70 which yields a 65mm negative. Big and wide! Beautiful sets (filmed on the back lot of Warner Bros.
, Studios), and outstanding costumes for which the film won an oscar. I'm not sure who the cinematographer was under the direction of George Cukor but this film featured some interesting and unusual shots which also set it apart from other films of the same character.
This is a film I never get tired of watching and if you've not recently watched it in widescreen, then see it again! Id you don't like musicals, turn off the sound and be visually mesmerized!
