Review of My Fair Lady (1964) by Steve G — 30 Sep 2013
Henry Higgins is my role model. Rex deserved that Oscar. I reveled in his blatant misogyny. I felt a kinship. When a woman does me wrong, I think of Henry Higgins. & all is better. What confidence in his confirmed bachelorhood.
I love that he doesn't really change at the end, either. And Audrey was wonderful, too, as Eliza. Some of the best writing in all of film. Especially in the lyrics of the music. Outstanding. Possibly my favourite of all musicals.
Delightful story.
