Review of My Dog Skip (2000) by Arthur R — 19 Jan 2011
My Dog Skip is a classic story about the bond between dog and kid. It's a touching story of the friendship between a boy and his dog. Yes, it has been done before. We all know these films. Emotional stringed instruments in the background attempt to tug at our heart strings.
You can always bet on the dog being in peril or the child, or both. This story is no "Old Yeller", but it deserves an honorable mention in this category of film. The only faults I find with this film is a tendency for being extravagantly sentimental and occasionally somniferous.
Overall a sweet family film for older children.
