Review of My Dinner with Andre (1981) by Jesse B — 09 Aug 2010
Two men (Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory) decide to meet one another after a long period of not having made contact. Old friends-- now scared strangers with built in defenses and humor to hide their true selves.
They meet at a restaurant and spend the next two hours speaking with one another. Yes, conversation is mode of transportation in this film, and does it transport you. Louis Malle directs from a script written by the two lead actors, this magical and wonderful film.
