Review of My Date with Drew (2005) by Josh L — 05 Dec 2005
The hubby is at work till later this evening, so thus, I am bored. The little one and I (and the dog) will only go outside for a bit since it's quite cold and there is still snow out there. It's been there for 3 days, and I don't see it going anywhere until possibly the end of the week. I think it's supposed to snow even more tomorrow afternoon. It's beautiful. We went for a drive yesterday through the most gorgeous housing section. Christmas trees EVERYWHERE.
So, we ended up going to Blockbuster after that and rented two documentaries. My Date With Drew and Murderball. I haven't watched the latter yet, but did watch the date one last night before watching Grey's Anatomy ;) Really, this was just pretty fun to watch. I thought the whole idea of this was brilliant. I mean, what would happen if everyone went on this type of quest to meet the celebrity that they're the biggest fan of. The world would be chaos. Of course, this film has probably created others to attempt the same thing and if I would ever attempt it (which I wouldn't) I'd go for a date with Johnny Depp:) Anyway, this little doc is successful when it comes to keeping you watching to see what'll happen next. And there were some genuinely funny moments...like when this guy's mom called Drew a "slut". "I believe my Star," (magazine) she says. I liked even more that it was Drew Barrymore that he wanted to get a date with because I knew that he'd get the date. I figured if she found out about what he was trying to do, then she would happily oblige because she's such a kind person, and seems to care about people. Really care. I like Drew a lot, so I could've liked this documentary more than maybe someone who doesn't really care for her, but the message is still there. "That you can make anything you dream happen, if you just try and not give up." Yes, even I can and even you too. :) Ha. Cute film really. It even got me all nervous in the scenes where he's sneaking into to the Charlie's Angels after party with the fake passes. My heart rate actually accelerated. I'd say rent it, just cause it's fun to watch. And it's just a cool thing this guy did. (even though he's a big goofball).
We'll watch Murderball tonight. I've heard great things about it. So, I'm excited to see it. The hubby loves to watch documentaries.
I still can't figure out how to post pics, like I normally do, on this laptop. Am I just being oblivious or what???
P.s. I think we are finally going to get our christmas tree today. I went and bought more decorations the other night for it. SQUEAL! I get pretty giddy about this kind of stuff.
