Review of My Darling Clementine (1946) by Jacob F — 05 Nov 2008
As classic and foundational as this is I prefer both of John Sturges's re-tellings of the same story (Gunfight at the OK Coral, and Hour of the Gun). This just doesn't hold the same engery. One of Fonda's best performances (he's great with little things, the leaning of the pole is masterful), as is the cinematography, but this just seems to lack the energy of some of Ford's other efforts.
