Review of My Darling Clementine (1946) by Jeff B — 08 Aug 2009
Some good acting, script and well shot scenes, but this movie did not live up to the expectations I had from recommendations. The whole movie just seemed a little too Hollywood: singing, stage-like acting, super orchestral score.
The love story did not move me, since I've already seen so many alliterations of it in tv / movies. Not a bad movie at all, and definitely worth watching if you like Westerns or love stories, but a lot less satisfying than the Clint Eastwood westerns which deal more with masculinity and justice: two issues which I think are much more interesting in a Western.
Romance can be an issue in any setting.
