Review of My Darling Clementine (1946) by Owen P — 31 Aug 2009
A highly entertaining yet surprisingly dark western. John Ford's direction is strong as expected, and Henry Fonda turns in a terrific lead performance.Victor Mature and Walter Brennan don't disappoint in their supporting roles, either.
The film is well-shot and especially well-written. A much better retelling of the Wyatt Earp/O.K. Corral legend than "Tombstone.".
