Review of My Darling Clementine (1946) by Brian R — 14 Jun 2010
This is probably my fav John Ford picture and one of the finest westerns I've ever seen. Henry Fonda plays as the famous sheriff Wyatt Earp who happens to land at town of Tombstone due to his brother being killed. Earp meets Doc Holliday(Victor Mature) who was once a doctor but no suffers from high altitude of heavy drinking. Earp also meets a young woman by the name of Clementine who he loves and respects.
I loved this film because it's soft and tender dispite the gunfight at the OK Corral. The film's tone never left me feeling bothered but appreciated, and I felt a sense of community in this film where other picture like "There Will Be Blood" lacks. My fav scene has to be when Earp has just been all polished up at the barber and Clementine smels the sweet scent from Earp, then Earp replies "Oh that's just me...barber".
