Review of My Cousin Rachel (2017) by Shelise R — 16 Jul 2017
My Cousin Rachel is an atmospheric thriller with impressive costuming and a score to transport you straight into the 19th century. You leave the cinema feeling as though you've awakened from a trance.
Unfortunately, it moves too slowly (not unexpected for a film based on Daphne du Maurier's works). Though this works terrifically well in a novel form, the plodding pace doesn't on screen.
