Review of My Bloody Valentine (2009) by Jason J — 17 Jun 2010
I didn't see this in 3-D. It's a decent enough slasher movie about a man that went on the rampage in a town 10 years previously with a pickaxe in a mining suit slaughtering 22 people on Valentine's night.
In the present day, one of the survivors of the killings comes back to the town and lo and behold the killings start all over again where he's accused on being the murderer. Plenty of nasty gory deaths which are shown in gruesome details so gorehounds will enjoy this.
There are a lot of red herrings as to who the killer is which keeps the viewers guessing until right near the climax. The acting isn't that great I've got to say and the story is full of holes but I guess what the filmmakers wanted to do was to show a lot of bloody deaths.
Plot and character development are thrown out of the window for the gore! Regardless of that I still found it be a fun entertaining horror.
