As a Greek who married a (gasp) a non Greek, the original My Big Fat Greek movie resonated deeply with my family- and obviously with millions of movie goers. It transcended Greek culture to appeal to many, many cultures.
The movie's success surprised the critics and delighted everyone else. The sequel continues the story with some 2016 updates (Apple products are prominently placed in the movie). This movie has the same universal appeal of family relationships of the first with an equally sweet and sentimental story.
We took the three kids (under 12) and loved it. The movie has the same warmth and humor of the first movie and as a added surprise the same exact cast looking surprisingly the same years later. I highly recommend this movie for anyone who wants a wholesome, funny and family-oriented experience no matter what culture you are trying to assimilate to or stretch away from.
