Review of My Beautiful Laundrette (1985) by Andrew C — 31 Oct 2006
Had to see this one for FTVMS 320. Certainly wasn't one of my favourites. It's ok but is not really about anything, just presents a few weeks in the lives of people living on the outskirts of society in 80's Britian.
Some good performances and worth watching just to see a younger Daniel Day Lewis confirming just how good an actor he was on his way to becoming. Having said this I wouldn't have watched this one if it hadn't been on the proscribed viewing list.
Might be one of those films that rewards repeat viewings. I'll let you know :).
