Review of Mutant Chronicles (2008) by Tyrone H — 26 Jul 2009
I was looking foward to this as a bit of pure escapism but its was largely dull and uninspiring. I'm begining to get fed up with CGI added sets and crave old fashioned sets built on sound stages. Just becuse you can show amazing things with a computer doesn't mean you should do it all of the time.
I think that it disconnects the actors from what they are shooting and most don't seem able to live in the scene becuse they cant visualise it themselves. It has some cool concepts and a very good visual style.
I also like Thomas Jane and Ron Perlman but that didn't make up for a poor sense of pace and very few chils and thrills.
