Review of Mutant Chronicles (2008) by Alex D — 19 Jan 2010
Yeah. I thought as much. The movie actually takes place in the 28th Century, 2707 or 2717 it was. Although honestly, it does look kind of bleak. As one person commented, it has a "Sky Captain" feel to the movie in that it is shot in a black and white type environment with little colour used, which also helps set the mood for the film.
All in all, the story isn't that bad, except I expected more from the ending it seems. And the soldiers themselves are the kind that are willing to die in battle as a few do, with honour. And the part about the Earth's resources being limited does fit well into our current situation.
It wasn't a bad movie but then it isn't the type of movie to get a lot of box office either, I'd say. As someone else said, it is for sci-fi lovers for sure. If you get a chance, check it out.
