Review of Mustang (2015) by Vic S — 15 Jan 2016
Remarkable performances from the five young female actors who portray the sisters. This film runs the gamut from annoying to riveting, hilarious to horrifying, tense to freewheeling to heartbreaking. A tale of religious oppression of females, it's tragic to see older women in collusion to clamp down on spirited girls.
This film reaches a satisfying conclusion, and never announces tragedy or milks it along the way.
