Review of Must Love Dogs (2005) by Rhonda L — 21 Feb 2010
A very dear friend of mine recommended this movie knowing that I'm after some sweet easy romantic comedies, something to pick up my mood. And I watched it and realised I've seen it a couple of times before on TV. I would gladly watch it again.
Great backdrops, decent and correct acting, Christopher Plummer being the cherry on the cake. Great warm fuzzy feeling after seeing this, hence 4 stars. Oh, and did I mention it does include some cute dog moments?
I love the impossible dialogue, the swift and erudite exchange of lines - something that a real person would never come up with! I love the love of books and poetry it alludes to, and I really like that somehow Dr Zhivago is a leit motif, a classic serious film. It says something about what this movie aspires to be.
