Review of Music of the Heart (1999) by Joanna L — 13 Apr 2009
This is a very nicely done movie based on a woman trying to keep her violin program alive in East Harlem. It is a sad reality that music programs and other art programs are the first things cut when the budget gets tight.
I think it is unfair that Mr. Holland's Opus got such publicity and praise and that this movie seemed to not get nearly as much. The cast is wonderful and the movie was made well. It is a truly touching movie.
