Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Carter K — 21 Nov 2017
Wish I was more into Agatha Christie novels earlier in my life. This was good. It's a period piece that totally immerses the viewer into the former glory of 1930's euro-train travel. Scenery, costumes, personalities.
..all there. I think Ken Brannagh did a stellar job in the role of Hercule Poirot. I reveled in his perfectionist arrogance and would love to see him reprise the role in future Agatha Christie novels brought to the screen.
That said, I admonish folks with short attention spans, most of you Millenials (not all), to avoid this one. Whining about the overall length and pace of these kinds of movies makes me want to scream "Go watch a Lego movie you big babies!" Adults who enjoy a mystery and well-portrayed bygone era pageantry in your movies.
..get to the theaters and see this movie sooner rather than later.
