Branagh cleverly exploited and exhibited humourously Pierrot's odd idiosyncrasies but the rest of the film is mostly talk with some quick but rushed flashbacks which could have been made more thrilling.
The 1974 original definitely is superior, more dramatic and attention grabbing.
