Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Rita D — 13 Dec 2017
Incredibly disappointing. I love the book, and this fourth remake of an all time classic feels unnecessary as it is ill paced. Despite an all-star cast, the characters are butchered by rushed infodumps and inapt narcissism in the acting that outright murders all the beautiful nuances in behaviour and the depth of understanding of human nature so typical of Agatha Christie's writing.
The photography is amazing, but the overall atmosphere feels fake, contrived. Overall, it feels like a missed opportunity.
