It looks slick, the production value is high, and I actually enjoy Branagh as Poirot quite a lot. The rest of the cast is good too (especially Michelle Pfeiffer), but unfortunately, not all of them get their chance to really shine.

The film adds a lot of unnecessary action and spectacle, which leaves less room for the actual murder mistery.

In the original novel, the reader is guessing and trying out to solve a puzzle, like Poirot is. The film doesn't have any of that. Things move way too fast, and we don't really get a sense of who most characters are.

This makes the revelation of the murderer less powerful, even though it's portrayed with enough drama and emotion (and it's still one of the best twists ever!).

It's not a bad film, just a missed opportunity. I would recommend the 2010 TV adaptation, the 1974 film, or, best of all, the original novel by Agatha Christie.
