Review of Murder on the Orient Express (2017) by Steve S — 14 Nov 2017
I enjoy a good murder mystery. Agatha Christie wrote about a hundred of them. Why then does Hollywood have to make a movie of one of them that has already had a movie made of it. Oh yeah...because they obsessed with remakes and reboots and rehashing.
Nevertheless...this is what we get. The film itself is polished nicely and features a bunch of hammy, appealing actors. It drags in the middle a bit and seems a bit rushed at its conclusion. Still I enjoy a good mystery.
For now I'll take a fair one. One annoyance is at the end when they call Poirot to Egypt for a death on the NIle. Again...why do another Christie movie that has already been made into a film. If you're going to be unoriginal by doing an Agatha Christie novel, then at least be original by doing one that hasn't already been made into a movie!
