I've met the characters by reading the novel, seen several adaptations in movie and stage and thought this was thoroughly enjoyable and riveting. I cannot remember the last time I saw a movie where EVERY performance was "bravo!" - and there are a lot of characters in this one.
Wonderful film, amazing set design and costuming, beautiful cinematography.
