*SPOILER ALERT*.
Their first mistake was casting Johnny Depp as the victim rather than as Detective Poirot. You don't just kill of Johnny Depp! But then there was a flashback scene and I thought, "maybe it won't be so bad as they're going to be showing a lot of Johnny Depp flashback scenes." But I was wrong. There was only one flashback scene. I was disappointed that this movie did not showcase his talent.
Aside from the casting failure, the storyline, setting and script were not bad. I liked how they gorgeously and sophisticatedly set the first scene as well as the atmosphere on the train. The revelation at the end was just a bit confusing. It seemed like they had revealed the killer to have been ___ at one point but near the end making a different revelation. My friend and I were confused. Maybe that's just us though.
Overall, I wouldn't watch it again and I'm quite disappointed that they did not give Johnny a bigger role. However, Michelle Pfeiffer and Judi Dench were spectacular as always.
