Review of Murder on the Orient Express (1974) by Ernie P — 20 Mar 2008
Starts a little slowly, but then Albert Finney takes over, and then one of the most underrated actors walks off with the movie. His performance is astonishing, and is the main reason to see this Sidney Lumet film.
I don't know how it was viewed in 1974, but it feels like a throwback now, a kind of film that wouldn't get made today. Audiences probably wouldn't have the patience to sit through it, but for those who like a fully developed story that takes its time, I highly recommend "Orient Express".
The cast is fantastic, and Lumet's direction is virtuosic as always.
