Review of Murder, My Sweet (1944) by Al M — 10 Aug 2010
A solid, riveting, genuinely hard-boiled adaptation of Raymond Chandler's novel. Dick Powell is no Humphrey Bogart, but he provides a solid interpretation of the character and the film moves us through the typical movements of noir plots in an engaging, dark, and humorous fashion.
Solid acting, well-written dialogue, and crisp direction make Murder, My Sweet a minor gem in the film noir canon.
