Review of Murder by Phone (1982) by Senor C — 06 Apr 2012
Murder by Phone has a lot of quirky charm. I sorta wish this could have gone under the working title Don't Answer the Phone but Robert Hammer somehow beat them to the punch that same year. Although the finer points of the plot of this film are a little muddled & truthfully you won't even give a shit you can basically come to the party just to watch the phone killings which are sorta fun.
A high frequency tone comes through the receiver causing your eyes to bleed & evidently causing you the be blown across the room or even the window of a high rise. Fun stuff & kind of innovative as far of this dreck goes.
Tries to add some credibility w/ having the likes of Richard Chamberlain & John Houseman in the cast but Im sure that the paycheck was no more then a ham sandwich since this film has pretty well fallen into obscurity.
Does make for some fine no demand late night viewing though.
