Review of Murder by Death (1976) by Lyle P — 04 Apr 2009
This is a very hilarious spoof of detective stories written by Neil Simon. It was very clever with an incredible comedic cast. My one complaint is that Peter Sellers played an Asian detective that was an amalgamtion of every Asian stereotype ever, and would rather see hin play a more well rounded character.
James Cromwell has a small part in this as well, and is very hilarious. It was cool to see Truman Capote on screen. He was exactly as I imagined him after watching Capote. The ending was one of the funniest spoof endings I have ever seen.
It caught me so off guard, I laughed for like ten minutes after it was over.
