Review of Munich (2005) by Dirk S — 30 Jan 2010
I was and am still amazed that Spielberg did a risky and controversal movie after the looooooong time between Jurassic Park/Schindler's List till today.
I admit, I am really dissappointed by him.
All his movies after his 1993 masterpieces felt lazy or rushed and don't took any risk or just sucked (A.I., Amistad, Jurassic Park 2, Minority Report and War of the Worlds).
Munich still feels a bit rushed, but Spielberg finally was brave enough to use his artistic freedom to take a position out of the mainstream meaning.
And it gives the movie far more depth and strength.Tthat the director took no onesided position and looks neutral and sober on the subject is the reason why this movie is so good.
