Review of Munich (2005) by Sumit S — 09 Nov 2012
Based on the infamous incident of the 1972 Olympics in Munich where Palestinian terrorists slaughtered 11 Israeli athletes, Munich is the story of the aftermath of the incident, the way Israel reacted to the massacre by tracking down & killing people thought to be responsible for the death of its athletes.
Steven Spielberg dons the director's hat & does a fine job again. The most outstanding achievement was the highly accurate depiction of the Munich Olympics incident. Although the second half of the film is almost fictional, it was carried out really well by the cast led by Eric Bana.
Music by John Williams is intense, cinematography is really good & so are most technical aspects. Under Spielberg's assured direction, Munich is worth checking out.
