Review of Mum & Dad (2008) by Kevin M — 29 May 2009
A movie that both begs you to turn it off and to keep watching until the end. Characters are well acted and genuinely unsettling. The story begins somewhat abruptly, and then fails to really go anywhere worth going.
The ending is uninspired and illogical. The absence of music for the majority of the film is just another annoyance. What keeps you watching this movie is the hope that it will do something to live up to its potential if you watch just another five minutes--it does not.
