In some ways, this is one of the more straight-forward Lynch films. Yet in other ways, it's extremely complex. Actually, the film is about contradictions like this.
Light and dark, good and evil, real and imaginary: these dualities are ever-present throughout.
A career-defining performance from Naomi Watts gives this dark, twisted, surreal mystery the extra kick it needs.
