"Mulholland Drive" by David Lynch is an important film to study for anyone that is interested in either psychology or narrative conventions, and that is due to the fact that it is unlike most films.

That is, to say, the film does not hold the viewer by the hand and make sure they understand it. "Mulholland Drive" is akin to one being thrown in a pitch-dark room full of knickknacks and furniture.

The only way the person will learn the objects in the room is by his or her desire to investigate, but not with sight. "Mulholland Drive" presents all its facts, but only those who desire investigation will be the ones discovering a truly traumatic yet fascinating psychological tale of heartbreak, jealousy, guilt and revenge.
