Review of Mulholland Dr. (1999) by Ivan M — 03 May 2012

Quite possibly the greatest film of the century so far, this absorbing masterpiece from David Lynch is just sheer perfection. Every single aspect of it is absolute genius. It is better to walk into this film with no knowledge of it beforehand, but in short it is a tale of love, hate, corruption and downright mystery portrayed grittily in the harsh reality of Hollywood.

Lynch's direction and script are as always, fantastically surreal and thrilling, the performances from the whole cast, particularly Watts and Harring are played astonishingly well, not to mention the soundtrack, which goes perfectly hand-in-hand with the atmosphere of the film itself.

I cannot fault it, and if you fancy yourself a film fan, this is a compulsory experience to watch.
