Review of Mulberry Street (2006) by Jeff Q — 05 Jul 2009

Mulberry Street is a zombi-esc horror that is set in a New York City apartment complex. The basic structure of the film is nothing new and really lacks a lot of originality. Where the film does succeed however is in the feel of the film.

Normally this type film will have completely stereotyped characters: the hero, the crazy one, the innocent child, the law, etc. Mulberry?s characters have a depth not often seen is the genre and the payoff works for the most part.

Also, the film really uses the city and social tendencies of New York as well as any horror film I?ve viewed. These positives don?t bring the film up top classic status, but certainly make the film a worthwhile watch.
