I think most of the good reviews are from women. I loved Mulan growing up and this film gave me goosebumps several times. Yes, it's not exactly as the animated film, I would've preferred a dragon than a Phoenix but I love the artistry and visuals of this film! It feels more like a "Crouching tiger, hidden dragon" type film than Disney.
