Review of Mulan (1998) by Devin P — 01 Oct 2012
I hated this movie's guts the first time I saw it,now I don't hate it as much as I used to. It has great score and songs,nice animation,and great humor. Now on to the negatives,I hated this movie before because it was an awkward situation having woman in a men's army.
Secondly, (and this is a big one) I disliked the fact that you had to either be a war hero or a beautiful bride to honor your ancestors. I mean,that's so stereotypical and harsh,though it may have been true.
That does somewhat make me appreciate Mulan's character more for being a day-changer and stand out,like I am. One more small thing that struck well with me about this movie is that it has a small bit of historical value being about the Huns,the Great Wall,and the Imperial City.
Overall,an ok Disney film.
