Review of Mulan (1998) by Michelle W — 31 Dec 2013
A breathtaking story which can appeal to any age group. Mulan stands out for me because it's a film that's filled with culture and passion of fighting and giving your self up for the sake of others.
This is authentic, intriguing and also very elaborate with the plot, but it's exciting special effects, characters like Mushu and Ling and the raw emotion and feeling equals it all up to being one of the most successful Disney films.
It was very emotional and the soundtrack was genius, I always have a song playing through my head because it suddenly appealed to me and it was true music. I really adored the fact that it's not a copycat version of your everyday Chinese fighting film, it had family references which were highly detailed and honest so the audience could really connect with that and it had shown very good life lessons on trust, belief in eachother and when your committed to something, never let go of that chance.
A magical story which is so influential and has a special place in my heart, Mulan is a strong and moving film which I adore.
