Review of Mulan (1998) by Irina T — 07 Dec 2010
Mulan's totally a classic. I remember I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid because it was just beautiful. It's quite rare for Disney to make a movie about Asia, and this is definitely one of the good ones. In fact, I think Disney should make one about Japanese samurais in the olden days. That'd be really awesome. Too bad Disney's glory days are over now. They're pretty crappy and they keep focusing on action and 3D stuff to earn money.
The characters are really funny and likeable, especially Mushu. I love how the ancestors always fight amongst each other. The movie's overall very entertaining yet it still tells the main story of a Chinese woman who fought in war thousands of years ago. She's such a legend!
9/10.
