Review of Mud (2013) by Max H — 01 Apr 2014

The critics and audiences hailed this film to be some sort of masterpiece. I disagree, it is a decent film but nothing to gush about. The reviews all mention how strong McConaughey's performance was, but he was only in about half of the film. He is a great actor, but I didn't feel he really had much to work with in Mud. The story is more about the young boy Ellis.

I enjoyed the story of an outlaw on the run hiding out and befriending two kids who help him out, but this was not exactly anything new or groundbreaking. I scratch my head when it comes to critics and their choices. Overall Mud is a pretty good movie, but nothing to freak out about...
