McConaughey gives a good performance that has you rooting for the bad guy in this somewhat tragic love story. Witherspoon doesn't do much to enhance the story with the whole focus being on the relationship with Mud, Ellis and Neckbone.
Currently on Netflix it is worth a look but if you don't have Netflix wait for it to come on a premium channel like HBO unless you can't wait then Redbox.
