Review of Mud (2013) by Scott W — 23 May 2015

Slow paced, but has a really great story about two young boys that run into a man out hiding named Mud (played brilliantly by Matthew McConaughey). The film is really a slice of time in a young boys life and you see how it all turns out.

Ellis (played by Tye Sheridan) is the young boy who's life is in a standstill just like Muds. While Ellis may not be in as much danger both men are facing decisions in life involving their ways of life, women and what the future brings.

I really enjoyed this film from director Jeff Nichols even more so than his last film Take Shelter which I thought was all over the place. With Mud there is a good direction, its brilliantly shot and it has you thinking by the end.

Definitely recommend checking this one out!
