Review of Mrs. Miniver (1942) by Austin L — 28 May 2007

This is by far one of my favorite movies. The story is inspirational, as one would expect war propaganda to be. However, a certain unique-ness can be found within this picture. Miss Garson does a truly remarkable job at portraying a middle-class woman watching her family be torn apart during the Second World War and, while some of the incidents that arise seem somewhat extraordinary, she still creates a sense of realism in her performance.

This certainly deserves a five-star rating.
