Review of Mrs. Miniver (1942) by Margaret J — 22 Jun 2009
Once I got past the first twenty minutes, which I found embarrassing (the whole "ooh, I spent too much!" schtick for Mr. and Mrs. Miniver; the Meet Cute for Vin and Carol), I really liked it.
Greer Garson and Teresa Wright were both outstanding. Yeah, it's propaganda, but it's very effective and has much more than a grain of truth in how it portrays the British reaction to being bombed.
