A quintessentially English movie and a good 'un. The topic of nude revues might suggest sleaze but there is an honesty and openness about Mrs Henderson's actions (later substantiated by a revelation of her motives) which is disarming.
Judi Dench is great, as is Bob Hoskins, and Will Young is well cast and does a good job (to my surprise). Witty dialogue, a glorious mix of characters and a real eye for period detail make this definitely worth a view.
