Review of The Man Who Never Was (1956) by Jose P — 19 May 2008
It's a terrible movie with awful acting, awful editing, a horrible soundtrack and a simple, one dimensional script. The only thing that it can boast is that the script is in fact a true story, and one of the most amazing stories to come out of World War II.
In order to fool the Nazis, the British dumped a dead body with secret letters on it in the sea, to be found and picked up by the enemy. Sounds like a simple premise for a 2 hour film, and it is, as the whole ordeal is stretched for a painfully long period of time, but nevertheless, it's a fascinating story to take in, regardless of how poor the execution was.
