Review of Mrs. Doubtfire (1993) by Zach M — 24 Jul 2011
Every once in a while Deanna gives something like THIS or Psych or Power Rangers 5 stars on my Netflix account, which is typically an accurate predictor of what I will give a movie, but as a result sometimes gives me some highly weird suggestions.
This was one of the VHS tapes Jeff, Sarah, and I owned as children before we had cable (and therefore watched roughly 1,000 times). This movie played like a broken record in my subconscious even during the ten years from when I last watched it until now. "You bring home the goddamn San Diego Zoo!"/"Scotch tape and red hair dye."/"Can you make me a woman?!"/So sad when that happens!" ... ahhh, it's much more the way they say it more than what they actually say. It's not that we thought the situation was funny, just that we were making fun of the people who said it or misplacing the context in which it was said. Text can't properly communicate the reality of a Hallenbeck, so this pseudo-review will have to suffice.
