Review of Mr. Turner (2014) by Robert W — 03 Nov 2014
A simply stunning performance from Timothy Spall and a must see for all Turner lovers, to be seen on the biggest screen possible. Stunning Cinematography. Not light entertainment however , but Mike Leigh's 'heavier and more authentic' treatment of his subject is to be all the more commended for that.
The Authentic use use of places where Turner painted and spent much time, such as Petworth, shine all the more for their gentle understatement and lack of announcement. A real Gem of a film. Bravo to all involved.
