Profoundly ... long. It was a blessing that I saw this at a theater in Italy because I needed the subtitles! All that pig grunting was more than I could handle for what seemed like 4 hours. It was brilliant in its twist on the traditional biopic but wholly lacking in real depth.
The use of the Stravinskyesque soundtrack attempted to add some semblance of layer in narration but ended up just adding to my frustration. Whinge all you want - for once I agree with the Academy - no Mr.
Turner.
